2019 Volkswagen Tiguan vs 2019 Honda CR-V
The Volkswagen Tiguan and Honda CR-V are the kind of reliable SUVs that all sorts of drivers are drawn to. Which one is right for you, though? To help drivers in Little Rock, Benton, and Conway decide, Owens Murphy Volkswagen had them face off in this 2019 VW Tiguan vs. 2019 Honda CR-V comparison.
Whether you’re on a family road trip or running into tough weather on your commute, the VW Atlas will keep you safe and in control. The available 4MOTION® all-wheel drive with Active Control features selectable driving modes, so you can adapt to your current driving conditions.
You’ll also be surrounded by a strong safety cage that features front and rear crumple zones. To help prevent accidents, lots of driver-assistance features are available, including a Blind Spot Monitor and Lane Keeping System.
If an accident does occur, the Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS) can sense when the airbags deploy. Then it will activate the hazard lights, turn off the fuel pump, and unlock the doors for you.
The Honda CR-V also offers all-wheel drive. While it also offers smart driver-assistance features, it doesn’t have anything like ICRS to take care of you after a collision.
The VW Tiguan offers convenient space for commuters and room for the whole family. With two rows of seats, you’ll have room for up to five people. If you think you’ll need some extra space, you can add a pair of 3rd-row seats and carry up to seven people.
The Honda CR-V doesn’t offer any other seating configurations. It’s only available with two rows of seats and its passenger capacity tops out at five people.
The VW Car-Net® App-Connect infotainment system comes standard in every trim level of the VW Tiguan. The base system features a 6.5-inch touchscreen display, but an 8-inch screen is also available. Both options feature lots of smartphone compatibility with standard Bluetooth®, Apple CarPlay®, and Android Auto™.
A navigation system is also available to provide you with turn-by-turn directions. You can view your maps on both the dashboard and Volkswagen Digital Cockpit. This customizable display upgrades your instrument cluster and can show you everything from your gauges to maps to who is calling.
The Honda CR-V also offers a touchscreen, Apple CarPlay®, and Android Auto™. Unfortunately, none of those features are standard on the base trim. While it does include Bluetooth®, the system is only available with a 5-inch LCD screen.
