2018 VW Tiguan Named Top Safety Pick
Volkswagen is proud to announce that the 2018 VW Tiguan, available now to Benton area drivers, was awarded the IIHS 2017 Top Safety Pick Rating, one of the most coveted designations in the automotive industry.
The IIHS awards the Top Safety Pick rating to vehicles that score “Good” ratings in five different crash test categories–frontal impact moderate overlap, frontal impact small overlap, side impact, roof strength, and head restraints. It must also come with an autonomous emergency braking system that earns at least an “advanced” rating. The Tiguan’s rating for the AEB was considered “Superior.”
Safety Features on the 2018 Tiguan
The 2018 VW Tiguan’s litany of safety features is headlined by the Automatic Post-Collision Braking System, standard across all trims. It is the only vehicle in its class to offer such a feature. The Automatic Post-Collision Braking System works on the premise that a collision is actually a series of impact instead of just one–so when the system detects a primary collision, it applies the brakes to reduce kinetic energy in hopes of minimizing the damage done to you or your car.
In addition to the Automatic Post-Collision Braking System, the Tiguan offers plenty of available driver-assist features, such as Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Pedestrian Monitoring, Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, front and rear Park Distance Control, High Beam Control, and Overhead View Camera.
That’s a lot of safety features, and you deserve to have peace of mind when you’re on the road. Benton area drivers can check out our 2018 Tiguan models for sale to find out which one suits them perfectly.
